September 30, 2007 (Jeff): Our web experience is growing rapidly, and I've just created a forum for our website. It might be awhile before I get it up and linked to the site, but look forward to it.
Update: Our new forum is located
here. The link is also in the footer of our website, and I'm working on getting in the navigational panel.
I changed the location of the
About Our Mentors page. I felt that they deserved a more prominent position than being sheltered under the Links page. So now here they are, swinging about out in the open and whatnot.
September 28, 2007 (Jeff): Just ordered Maria Schneider's brand new
Sky Blue album. (It's available from
Artist Share) It's been getting amazing reviews all over the place, and I'm really excited about it. On a side note, we're performing her piece Dance You Monster to My Soft Song on our concert this Thursday. It's awesome, and the bari part leaves me feeling a bit dizzy after. And needing a cigarette.
Also, I've added some music playing (very softly) in the background. You're either hearing the TSU Jazz Band, or a recording of Jonathan Newman's
Lullaby for Munch in Hell. Hopefully we'll have our version up soon for your listening pleasure.
September 27, 2007: The school's just got some new recording equipment, and we've gotten the OK to start working on a CD. We're going to start recording next month, and hopefully we'll be able to get some good tracks laid down right away. More likely though, we're going to have to play with the machinery for awhile, until someone learns how to use it. Recording experience, oh yeah! I'm probably going to have to let the other guys know about it, too... It'll all work out.
September 24, 2007: Just got an email back from the esteemed Jonathan Newman, and he's going to place a link on his website to our fledgling operation. If you haven't checked out any of his music, you should go
here and do it now. He's done some really neat things for wind ensemble and chamber groups, among other things.
Update: Also check out our
